The goal was to create a future proof digital platform that could operate across smartphone, tablet and laptop devices. The focus was on building a new innovative onboard experience that set Viking Line ahead of the competition and paved the way for future services.

A digital ecosystem
We started with interviews, workshops and focus groups with actual passengers and Viking Line personnel. Working collaboratively throughout the design and build process, we delivered a digital ecosystem with onboard apps, an eCommerce solution, and an onboard WiFi solution that keep the app working even at sea.
What we did
Onboard Apps: Created apps that offer various features and services to passengers, improving their onboard experience.
eCommerce Solution: Developed an eCommerce platform for seamless booking and purchasing, both pre-journey and during the trip.
Onboard WiFi Solution: Implemented a reliable WiFi solution to ensure the app and other digital services work efficiently even at sea.
Ranked #1 travel application in Finland
With the mentioned approach we provided better visibility for the investment and its impact on customer experience and revenue outcome. Just a few days after launch, the app became the #1 travel app in Finland and #2 travel app across Scandinavia.
